Journey into The Scottish Highlands

11 days from £3,045 / $4,872 per person

The Scottish Highlands are considered the last great wilderness of Europe and this 11 day tour takes you on a journey to many of its highlights. Start your journey in Edinburgh where you will stay at The Balmoral. Perfectly located at the top of Princes Street, this historical hotel has been part of Edinburgh’s skyline for well over 100 years. Journey on from Edinburgh into the Scottish Highlands where you'll stay at Inverlochy Castle, a grandiose county house hotel set in the foothills of Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain. In addition to its Michelin-starred restaurant, Inverlochy Castle plays host to a wide range of sporting activities including mountain biking, sailing, archery and abseiling. From Inverlochy Castle travel up to Loch Ness where you will stay at the cosy Loch Ness Lodge. This family-run hotel will make you feel instantly at home and is well placed for a range of sightseeing in the region. Take a boat ride on Loch Ness and visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle or alternatively spend your first afternoon at leisure. The following day visit Culloden Battlefield, the famous site of the last bloody battle of the Jacobite Rising. For your remaining time you may wish to take a day trip to either the Isle of Skye and Eileen Donan Castle or spend the day exploring at your leisure. Your next desintation will be Alladale Wilderness Lodge & Reserve, a remote and beautiful retreat set in a landscape of dramatic glens, lochs and forests. Spend two nights at this idyllic property before returning to Inverness for your flight home. This tour includes luxury vehicles for all transfers and private Blue Badge guides or equivalent for all sightseeing tours.

Client Testimonials

I had a very lovely time and was looked after splendidly. My first visit to India could not have been better, save for being longer! But I shall return at some point and I shall look to you to make the arrangements.

I barely know where to begin... though a sincere 'thank you' would be the best. You have organised this trip perfectly. May was an inspiring and delightful companion in Myanmar – thoroughly professional and friendly at the same time. My accommodation throughout has been superb, especially The Governor's Residence and The Mandarin Oriental. The view from the cottage at Inle Lake was beautiful and I loved every moment of being there. And here I am now on the last leg of this extended holiday at my favourite place. I could stay here for ever, the peace, silence and surroundings all amazing, plus the people and the whole aura of Vana. Thank you for much, and I look forward to speaking to you on my return.
- Ms Margulies, Burma, India & Thailand
Difficult to choose the highlight of the trip, can’t choose between… 1) Taj Mahal & Oberoi Amarvilas. 2) Ranthambore. 3) Lake Palace. We have to say a particular thank you for selecting Parmod as our driver. He is a delightful and kind man who took our holiday and our enjoyment as his responsibility. Thank you for putting together such an amazing trip for us. The balance of city and rural destinations was perfect for us and the variety of rooms and hotel types brilliant. Our driver and guides also added so much to the trip with their knowledge of India’s history and culture and their willingness to discuss it both from a professional and personal angle.
