Begin this journey at Amandari, in the cultural heart of Bali, Ubud. Perched above the rushing water of the Ayung River Gorge the Amandari overlooks natural forests and an emerald green cascade of rice paddies. Continue to Amanwana, on the beautiful and secluded Moyo Island. Arriving their by seaplane is an adventure in itself and when you have arrived, there is an abundance of activities from night snorkelling to sailing or just plain relaxation. Surrounded by the turquoise waters and untouched reefs of the Flores Sea, the island is 350 square kilometres with vegetation ranging from savannah to tropical jungle. It is blessed with a variety of animal and bird life, from deer to wild boar, macaque monkeys, sea eagles and osprey.

Next, take the seaplane back to Bali and transfer to Amankila, on the east coast of Bali. The fabled Mount Agung, a volcano revered as a home of the gods by the Balinese, provides a dramatic backdrop to this all suite resort. The 34 stilted free-standing suites are tucked into the lush vegetation around the resort, all boast outstanding sea views. End your holiday at Amanjiwo. Resting in the rural heartland of Central Java, Amanjiwo is surrounded by extraordinary cultural, physical and spiritual beauty. It has unbeatable views of the sacred temple of Borobudur. The "Romanesque" amphitheatre-style pool, built from limestone blocks, also offers breathtaking views.
