Mombo is famed as the “place of plenty.” Its location in a ‘bottleneck’ at the tip of Chief’s Island, and the enrichment of the surrounding plains by the annual inundation, results in arguably Africa’s most intense wildlife-viewing experience. Mombo has also become the epicentre of a continentally-important rhino relocation and conservation programme. Mombo’s nine spacious tents afford unimpeded views over a floodplain teeming with wildlife. Each guest tent is luxuriously appointed with polished wooden floors, an outdoor shower and thatched sala to allow an even greater degree of closeness to the wonders of the Okavango. Besides the lovely rooms, fantastic wildlife and delicious cuisine, there is also a gym ‘with a view’ and in-room massage treatments available.

Given the outstanding game viewing at Mombo, it is not surprising that the safari activities are centred on Game drives via open 4x4 Land Rovers, which each accommodate a maximum of six or seven guests, allowing every guest a 'window' seat. Please note that as we are in Moremi Game Reserve, night drives are not possible at Mombo Camp as is the case with walking.

The brilliant 4Cs Centre is an interactive experience where you can learn about Wilderness Safaris’ sustainable operations by committing to the four dimensions of Commerce, Conservation, Community and Culture. Presentations on the return of the rhino to Botswana are held regularly by one of our available rhino conservation experts. These talks address the current plight of the rhino and how Wilderness Safaris is helping to safeguard these mammals.
