Kalpitiya

Kalpitiya is located on the East coast, four hours north of Colombo. A dry and hot part of the island, Kalpitiya is rarely beaten when it comes to weather. The area remains home to a large fishing community and the crabs caught here in the lagoon are considered the best in the world. In recent years, this small sea side community has been put on the map for excellent whale and dolphin sightings and is rapidly becoming a popular spot for kite surfing.
