The Leela
-
Udaipur
The hotel's location is truly spectacular. Sitting between the city of Udaipur, with its tableau of city palaces reflected in Lake Pichola, and the Aravalli hills, the panorama is difficult to beat. Knowing this, all of their rooms, the spa and Sheesh Mahal restaurant face the lake. The Leela took 14 years in total to complete, which is reflected in the incredible detail that has gone into the artwork throughout the hotel and the intricate murals in the courtyards. The rooms are furnished with traditional Rajasthani items and gadgets for the tech savvy, such as Sony Bravia TV's and I-pod docks. The luxurious ESPA spa (not to be missed) is handily close to the hotel's core and is set beside the pristine 20m pool with Art Deco styling. The nine tented treatment pavilions, capped like pith helmets, are arranged around a plunge pool and a small Hindu shrine and are linked by a cool black and white tiled pathway. Whilst here make sure you indulge in the Sheesh Mahal restaurant; it not only offers the best view in Udaipur but also some of the finest Indian cuisine in the city. 72 rooms and 8 suites as follows: Lake View Room, Heritage View Room, Luxury Suite, Duplex Suite, The Royal Suite and The Maharaja Suite. Fitness centre, ESPA spa, one outdoor swimming pool. 2 restaurants: The Dining Room and Sheesh Mahal restaurant. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
